UPP® Dispenser Sumps
Rigid 8 mm HDPE dispenser sumps that weld to UPP® pipe, with dispenser-specific mounting frames
Overview
UPP dispenser sumps are designed for forecourts piped with UPP semi-rigid polyethylene pipe. The body is a one-piece, 8 mm thick HDPE moulding with a reinforced, contoured shape that stands up to ground movement and hydrostatic pressure, and an integrated rain lip option helps keep surface water out. A large, clear face is left on the sump wall so the electrofusion entry seals have room to be welded in place.
The main advantage is the way pipe enters the sump. UPP electrofusion (EIF) entry seals weld to the sump wall and the UPP pipe welds to the seal, so pipe, entry and sump become one polyethylene structure with no clamps or rubber boots to age. The ribbed PetroTite neck can be trimmed to suit the burial depth on each island.
Steel top frames are made for specific dispensers and have conduit entry points, so electrical conduit enters the dispenser through the frame instead of through the sump wall. Franklin lists frames for Gilbarco SK700 and Encore, Tokheim Q500, Wayne Global and CXX models and Tatsuno Sunny-XE wide and narrow body dispensers. Galvanised stabiliser bars come with pre-drilled shear valve plates and spring channel nuts for quick mounting. Apex supplies and installs UPP dispenser sumps together with UPP pipework in Lebanon.

Questions
UPP® Dispenser Sumps: common questions
- How does UPP pipe connect to the sump?
- Through UPP electrofusion entry seals that weld to the sump wall. The pipe is then electrofused to the seal, giving a one-piece polyethylene connection with no mechanical joint.
- Do conduits have to pass through the sump wall?
- No. The steel mounting frames have conduit entry points, so conduit enters the dispenser through the frame without penetrating the sump.
- Is there a frame for Tatsuno Sunny-XE dispensers?
- Yes. Franklin's compatibility chart lists DS4620 with frame DS4620-F-TSXE-W for the Sunny XE wide body and DS3420 with frame DS3420-F-TSXE-N for the narrow body, each with a DS-SBA-20 stabiliser bar.
