Franklin Fueling Systems Optimum Fusion OCH-1400-SS small riser tank chamber

Overview

Optimum Fusion (OCH series) chambers are 1400 mm polyethylene tank chambers for sites where groundwater must never reach the tank top. Base and riser arrive as separate parts. The pipework is fitted into the open base first, which gives the installation crew room to work, and the riser is then electrofused onto it.

The weld is made with standard UPP electrofusion equipment in approximately six minutes, using the OCH-1400-H welding harness that is ordered separately. After cooling, base and riser form one homogeneous unit with no bolts, no foam gaskets and no mechanical joint, and the chamber is vacuum tested to confirm it is leak-tight. Lids close with toggles (OCH-1400-T1 included), and a mechanical toggle is available.

Four models cover different burial depths and collar sizes. The large-bore OCH-1400-D (deep) and OCH-1400-S (shallow) have a 980 mm neck opening and a watertight large-bore lid, and their bases suit square collars up to 970 mm or round collars up to 1150 mm. The Small Riser OCH-1400-DS and OCH-1400-SS have a 780 mm opening and a base that takes larger collars, up to 1270 x 1270 mm square or 1380 mm round. Apex supplies and installs Optimum Fusion chambers in Lebanon, including the electrofusion welding.

How long does the riser weld take?
Franklin quotes approximately six minutes with UPP electrofusion equipment. The OCH-1400-H welding harness is required and is ordered separately.
What is the difference between the large-bore and Small Riser versions?
Large-bore models (OCH-1400-D and -S) have a 980 mm neck opening. Small Riser models (OCH-1400-DS and -SS) have a 780 mm opening and a base that fits larger tank collars, up to 1270 x 1270 mm square or 1380 mm round.
How deep can the chamber go?
Deep models adjust between 1176 and 1616 mm overall height; shallow models between 826 and 1266 mm.
