APT® Large Mouth Fiberglass Dispenser Sumps
Single and double wall FRP under-dispenser sumps with factory-sealed frames, in 2400, 3600 and 4800 Series
Overview
Large Mouth fiberglass dispenser sumps contain everything under the dispenser: shear valves, flexible connectors and pipe entries. The body is strong three-layer hand-laid FRP and the wide mouth leaves plenty of working room. The powder-coated steel dispenser frame and top are assembled and watertight-sealed at the factory, then glassed onto the sump in the field once the piping is connected. A water dam frame design stops surface water running into the sump.
Sumps are grouped by base length into the 2400, 3600 and 4800 Series, each with several mouth sizes matched to dispenser footprints, and Franklin publishes a directory that maps dispenser models to the right sump. All share a 26" bottom depth and 33.5" base depth. Dispenser frames and mounting hardware come with the sump. The stabilizer bar kits (SBK) that hold the emergency shear valves are track-mounted and adjust in every plane to line the valve up with the dispenser piping.
Each model is made in single wall or double wall form. Double wall sumps are suited to hydrostatic (brine) or vacuum monitoring and ship under vacuum with a factory-fitted gauge, and an HM-KIT hydrostatic monitoring kit is available. Single wall sumps stack, which cuts freight and storage space. Franklin quotes a two-week lead time on fiberglass parts. - Should I choose single wall or double wall?
- Double wall sumps add a monitored interstitial space, checked by hydrostatic (brine) or vacuum methods, and ship under vacuum with a gauge. Single wall sumps are simpler and stack for shipping. The choice usually follows local containment rules and the site's leak monitoring plan.
- How do I pick the right sump size?
