EN CableTight™ Wire Management System
Electrofusion-welded cable containment from kiosk to sump

Overview
Cables are often the weak point in an otherwise sealed forecourt. A tank sump can be watertight on its pipe entries and still take in groundwater through a cable gland or a cracked steel conduit. The UPP® brand CableTight™ system treats wiring the way UPP® treats fuel pipe: conduit, entry seals and containment are joined by electrofusion welding so they become one plastic body with no mechanical joint to leak.
Inside the sump, each entry seal uses slotted compression discs or grommets that grip every cable individually, and a compression nut tightened from the inside locks the whole assembly liquid-tight and vapour-tight. Because the discs are slotted, cables can be laid into position rather than threaded through each hole, which makes pulling wire much easier. Different entry seals suit different local rules: flexible conduit, direct burial or rigid steel conduit.
Franklin sized the conduit after surveying cable diameters on forecourts worldwide. Orange polyethylene conduit comes in 32 mm (100 m coils) and 75 mm (50 m coils), with blue 110 mm ducting in 75 m coils for large bundles back to the kiosk. Long coils avoid buried joints, and polyethylene does not corrode like steel. A purpose-built LLDPE transition chamber with a D400 composite cover gives the electrician an access point with a cable-shaping base and a removable shield plate to separate power from sensor wiring. Apex designs CableTight routes for new station builds in Lebanon.

Questions
EN CableTight™ Wire Management System: common questions
- How does CableTight keep water out of sumps?
- The entry seal is electrofusion welded to the containment and conduit, and slotted compression discs or grommets seal around each cable, locked by a compression nut.
- What conduit sizes are available?
- 32 mm conduit in 100 m coils, 75 mm conduit in 50 m coils and 110 mm ducting in 75 m coils.
- What is the transition chamber for?
- It is an LLDPE chamber with a D400 composite cover that gives the electrician an access point for maintenance or future expansion, with a removable plate to separate cables.
