Franklin Fueling Systems Corrosion Control System

Overview

Modern diesel, especially with biodiesel content, has made corrosion a routine maintenance cost. Water collects at the tank bottom, acids form, and the damage shows up as clogged dispenser filters, corroded pump parts and longer, more frequent service calls. Franklin's Corrosion Control™ System attacks the causes rather than the symptoms, and it does so automatically from the tank gauge.

The system is a set of components that work through an EVO™ 600 or EVO™ 6000 console, with the Corrosion Control Application now standard on those consoles. In the tank, the Water Separator pulls the water and acid mixture off the bottom and returns clean fuel. The Corrosion Detection Sensor watches the ullage space and raises an alarm if the atmosphere turns corrosive. A Low Level Water Float for diesel detects water as shallow as 1/4", earlier than standard floats. In the sump, Desiccant Packs absorb humidity before it condenses, and a Desiccant Pack Sensor reports their remaining life. Submersible pumps can be ordered with Advanced Protection coatings and stainless steel parts.

For existing stations the Multiplexing Sensor Hub™ is the key part. It lets up to six devices share an existing 4-wire probe cable, so the system can be added without breaking concrete to pull new conduit. Older EVO 550/5000 consoles can be upgraded to 600/6000 with an upgrade kit. Apex helps Lebanese operators choose the right combination for diesel and gasoline tanks.

Questions

Corrosion Control™ System: common questions

Which tank gauge runs the Corrosion Control System?
The EVO 600 or EVO 6000. Existing EVO 550/5000 consoles can be converted with an EVO Series Upgrade Kit.
Can it be added to an existing station without new conduit?
Yes. The Multiplexing Sensor Hub uses an existing 4-wire probe or sensor cable to connect up to six devices.
Is it only for diesel?
The Water Separator targets diesel tanks, while the Corrosion Detection Sensor and desiccant products also protect gasoline systems and sumps.
