FE PETRO 1.5 Hp submersible turbine pump by Franklin Fueling Systems

Overview

The 1½ Hp FE PETRO pump sits between the ¾ Hp unit and the 2 Hp models, giving more head for longer pipe runs or more nozzles on a mid-volume grade. It is fixed speed only, with a multi-stage centrifugal pump driven by a Franklin Electric motor with integral, automatic thermal overload protection, turning at 2875 rpm on 50 Hz.

Two pressure versions are made. On 50 Hz, the standard three-stage model reaches 2.62 bar and the high-pressure four-stage model (factory option H) reaches 3.31 bar. On 60 Hz the equivalents are the two-stage 150 at 32 psi and the three-stage H150 at 45 psi. The higher-pressure version is the one to consider where dispensers are far from the tank or many nozzles run at once.

The 150B runs on single-phase 200-250 VAC with a 440 V, 15 microfarad capacitor and is driven by an SPGC-220 Guardian controller or STP-CBBS control box; the 150C runs on three-phase 380-415 VAC through a TPGC-380 Guardian controller or STP-CBB3C starter. Factory options include AG compatibility for high-ethanol and biodiesel blends, an intake filter screen (K), a floating suction adapter (F) and a Model R check valve for Veeder-Root PLLD line leak detectors. If the pump ever needs service, it lifts out of the tank after removing three bolts, without disconnecting the syphon or removing the leak detector. Apex supplies, installs and services 1½ Hp pumps.

Questions

FE PETRO® 1½ Hp Submersible Pumps: common questions

What is the difference between the standard and high-pressure 1½ Hp?
The high-pressure model adds a pump stage. On 50 Hz it reaches 3.31 bar against 2.62 bar for the standard model.
Which controllers suit the 1½ Hp pump?
Single-phase 150B models use the SPGC-220 Guardian controller or STP-CBBS control box. Three-phase 150C models use the TPGC-380 Guardian controller or STP-CBB3C magnetic starter.
Does servicing the pump require removing the leak detector?
No. The pump comes out by unthreading three bolts, without disconnecting the syphon system or removing the leak detector.
