Probe Installation Kits
Riser seals, caps and splice connectors for mounting Franklin probes

Overview
The probe install kit is the part a station manager sees: the cap on the probe riser. Its job is to seal the riser tightly so rain and surface water cannot run down into the tank, while still letting a technician get at the probe. Franklin's standard 4" kits use a quick-release cap, so the probe can be checked or pulled for maintenance without tools or wasted time.
There are two families, matched to the way the probe is mounted. Bottom-mount kits (TSP-C2A and TSP-C4A, or TSP-C2B and TSP-C4B for BSP threads) seal the riser for probes that stand on the tank floor, which suits inventory probes and FMP-LL3 digital probes. Suspension kits (TSP-K2A and TSP-K4A, or the BSP-threaded K2B and K4B) hang LL2 leak detection probes. This keeps the probe isolated from tank deflection and truly vertical, so the floats move freely and readings stay accurate.
The electrical connection matters as much as the mechanical one. Franklin's TSP-KW30 splice connectors join field wiring without stripping or twisting: the conductors are pushed into a three-port connector and pressed, and a factory sealant keeps moisture out. For direct burial runs or where weatherproof junction boxes are not used, TSP-DB1 and TSP-DB10 direct burial splice kits apply, and their epoxy is dispensed with the DBTOOL.
Apex supplies the correct install kit, riser seals and splice parts with every Franklin probe it installs in Lebanon.

Questions
Probe Installation Kits: common questions
- Which kit do I need for a digital FMP-LL3 probe?
- A bottom-mount kit (TSP-C2A or TSP-C4A, or the B versions for BSP threads), since digital probes rest on the tank bottom and need no suspension hardware.
- Why do LL2 leak detection probes use a suspension kit?
- The suspension kit isolates the probe from tank deflection and holds it vertical so the floats move freely for accurate leak testing.
- Do the splice connectors need wire stripping?
- No. The wires are inserted and the connector is pressed down. A factory sealant protects the joint from moisture.
