Low Level Water Float for Diesel
Detects water in diesel tanks from ¼" for earlier corrosion warning

Overview
Water at the bottom of a diesel tank was once a minor nuisance. Franklin points out that changes to diesel composition in recent years have led to widespread corrosion caused by water in tanks, so the sooner water is found, the better. The FMP-IDF4E kit is built for that job: its water float registers water from ¼" (0.25"), where a standard float only starts reading at ¾".
Franklin quantifies the difference on a typical 8' by 8,000 gallon tank. A standard float first sees water at about 13 gallons, while the low level float responds to as little as 4 gallons, a reduction of 69%. The station gets its alarm while the water can still be pumped out easily, before it has spread corrosion through the system.
The kit pairs a diesel product float with the low level water float and adds a compact probe foot so it fits new or existing probes. It is made for 4" risers and recommended for bottom-mounted FMP-LL3 digital probes on EVO™ 200, 400, 600 and 6000 gauges. Franklin also suggests pairing it with its Corrosion Control™ System of water separator, desiccant packs and corrosion sensors for an extra layer of protection.
Apex supplies and fits the low level water float in Lebanon, often as an upgrade on existing diesel tanks.
