Franklin Fueling Systems TSP-LL2 analog inventory and leak detection probe

Overview

The TSP-LL2 analog probes use the same magnetostrictive principle as Franklin's digital range but send an analog signal to the gauge. They stay in the catalogue for two reasons: they cover longer tanks, and they are compatible with a wide list of consoles. Besides the EVO™ 600, 6000, 550, 5000, 200 and 400, they work with the TS-5, TS-550, TS-5000, Colibri® and older TS-1001, 2011, 750, 504 and 508 gauges, which makes them the practical choice when an older site needs a replacement probe.

Leak detection models are listed at 101", 113" and 125", while inventory-only models run up to 170", suited to large aboveground tanks. The inventory probes can be bottom mounted. Leak detection probes hang from a suspension install kit, which keeps the probe clear of tank deflection.

Each probe can carry up to three floats, so one shaft can report product, water, phase separation or density. Franklin specifies non-linearity at ±0.025% of full scale, repeatability at ±0.001", with five thermistors along the shaft reading temperature to ±0.02° F (±0.01° C). A 10' shielded, polyurethane-jacketed pigtail and a screw-in connector make field wiring and later removal simpler.

Apex supplies and fits TSP-LL2 probes in Lebanon, both for new long tanks and as like-for-like replacements on legacy Franklin gauges.

Questions

Analog Inventory & Leak Detection Probes (LL2): common questions

Why choose an analog probe over a digital one?
Mainly for compatibility and length. TSP-LL2 probes work with legacy TS-series and Colibri® gauges as well as EVO™ consoles, and inventory models run up to 170".
How many floats can a TSP-LL2 probe carry?
Up to three, for product, water, phase separation detection or density measurement.
Can the probe be bottom mounted?
Bottom mounting applies to the inventory probes only. Leak detection probes are suspended with an install kit.
