Flexible Inventory Probes
Coilable PVDF probes for tall tanks and low-headroom installs

Overview
A rigid probe for a very tall storage tank is awkward to transport and risky to lift into place at height. Franklin's flexible inventory probe solves this with a PVDF shaft that arrives coiled. The installer carries it to the top of the tank, uncoils it and feeds it down the opening, guided by a stainless steel weight and pin at the bottom end that pull the shaft straight and keep it aligned. The same quality makes the probe useful indoors, for example on a generator day tank with very little clearance above the fill opening.
Lengths are made to order for tank heights between 4' and 68' (1,219 mm and 20,726 mm). The probe head has a ¾" NPT thread. An adjustable 1" NPT compression fitting sets the depth precisely, and an optional 16" stainless steel sleeve guides the shaft in vertically. The probe takes two floats, product and water, from a dedicated flexible float kit in 2", 3" or 4" size. Probes over 23' include a spacer between the floats.
Installers should allow for the measurement limits Franklin publishes: a null zone at the top of 12" to 16" where nothing is detected, and a dead band space between 6.35" and 19.35". A 2' cable is supplied, with 500 ft and 1,000 ft reels available. The probe works with EVO™ 200/400 from software 3.3.1, EVO™ 550/5000 from 2.6.2.8040, EVO™ 600/6000, and Colibri® from 1.18.16.8543.

Questions
Flexible Inventory Probes: common questions
- What is the tallest tank a flexible probe can serve?
- Franklin offers lengths for tanks up to 68' (20,726 mm) high, and tank capacities up to 5,875,000 gal (22,200,000 liters).
- Can standard floats be used?
- No. Use only the flexible probe float kits, which include a product float, a water float and, on longer probes, a spacer.
- Which EVO™ software is needed?
- EVO™ 200/400 need software 3.3.1 or later and EVO™ 550/5000 need 2.6.2.8040 or later. EVO™ 600/6000 are compatible.
