Franklin Fueling Systems

Probes & Sensors

Tank probes, float kits and leak sensors for EVO™ Series gauges

Franklin probes use magnetostrictive measurement to read product and water levels precisely, with leak detection versions for in-tank testing. Float kits match each probe to the fuel and riser size, including floats for early water detection in diesel and for phase separation in ethanol blends.

Franklin Fueling Systems digital inventory and leak detection probe

A full family of sensors watches sumps, dispenser pans and tank interstitial spaces, and the DC400 can cut off dispensing when liquid is found. Apex supplies and installs the probes, sensors and installation kits that complete an EVO™ system.

Key features

  • Digital, analog and flexible magnetostrictive probes
  • Leak detection probe models for static and SCALD® tank testing
  • Float kits for 2", 3" and 4" risers, colour coded for gasoline and diesel
  • Discriminating sensors that tell water from hydrocarbons
  • Sensors for dry and brine-filled interstitial spaces
  • Stand-alone dispensing cutoff for retrofit sites
  • Riser caps, sump brackets and direct burial splice kits

What this range covers

Digital inventory probes, Franklin Fueling Systems

Digital inventory probes

Magnetostrictive probes with digital communications for precise product and water level readings. Leak detection models add static or SCALD® tank testing, and the probes pair with EVO™ consoles and a float kit.

Analog inventory & leak detection probes, Franklin Fueling Systems

Analog inventory & leak detection probes

Magnetostrictive probes for inventory or inventory plus leak detection, installed in 2", 3" or 4" risers. Non-linearity is ±0.025% of full scale, with five thermistors in the shaft; UL & cUL listed, ATEX and IECEx.

Flexible inventory probes, Franklin Fueling Systems

Flexible inventory probes

For tall tanks, low overhead and indoor installs, in lengths for tanks from 4' to 68' (1,219 to 20,726 mm). PVDF construction with 0.010" (0.254 mm) resolution and up to 2 floats.

Standard float kits, Franklin Fueling Systems

Standard float kits

Product and water float sets for 2", 3" or 4" risers, built from nitrile rubber and PVDF, with water floats coloured red for gasoline and blue for diesel.

Low level water float for diesel, Franklin Fueling Systems

Low level water float for diesel

Detects water from ¼" instead of ¾", which is as little as 4 gallons in a typical 8' x 8,000 gallon tank. For 4" risers and bottom-mounted LL3 probes.

Phase separation float kits, Franklin Fueling Systems

Phase separation float kits

A single float rises on water or phase-separated fuel, so the pump can be stopped before either reaches a vehicle. In 2" and 4" kits for gasoline and ethanol blends up to E15.

Sump sensors, Franklin Fueling Systems

Sump sensors

Discriminating DTS, DDS and DMS sensors separate water from hydrocarbons in tank and dispenser sumps, and the ULS is a low-cost float sensor. DTS and DDS detect liquid 1½" (38 mm) from the base.

Interstitial sensors, Franklin Fueling Systems

Interstitial sensors

DIS and EIS optical sensors for steel and fiberglass double-wall tanks and sumps, and the HFS float switch for tight, dry fiberglass tank interstitial spaces.

High level sensor, Franklin Fueling Systems

High level sensor

HLS float-switch overfill sensor that can be set across a wide range of levels, with a normally closed supervised circuit and 5 ft of jacketed cable.

Hydrostatic sensors, Franklin Fueling Systems

Hydrostatic sensors

HIS for double-wall tanks with a brine-filled interstice, and UHS for liquid-filled double-wall sumps, both alarming when the monitoring liquid level changes.

DC400 dispensing cutoff system, Franklin Fueling Systems

DC400 dispensing cutoff system

Stand-alone 404-4 controller and S404 sensor that stop product flow when liquid is found in a turbine or dispenser sump, wired into existing circuits with no new conduit. Input power 90-250 VAC, 50/60 Hz.

Probe and sensor installation kits, Franklin Fueling Systems

Probe and sensor installation kits

Probe install kits for 2" or 4" risers with a quick-release cap, riser caps for interstitial and monitoring wells, Unistrut sump brackets, direct burial splice kits and splice connectors.
