Overview
Franklin's FMP-LL3 digital probes are the standard in-tank sensors for EVO™ Series gauges. Each probe sends its readings to the console as digital data instead of an analog signal, and it also reports its own gradient, type, length and serial number. The technician no longer types those values in, which removes a common source of setup errors.
Two families share the same body. FMP-LL3 leak detection probes are meant for underground tanks where static or SCALD® tank testing is required. FMP-LL3-I inventory control probes cover aboveground tanks, oil waste, and underground tanks that do not need in-tank leak testing. Standard lengths run from 2' to 12' in fourteen steps, and Franklin can supply other lengths on request.
Installation is quick. The probe rests on the tank bottom on its bottom-mount fitting, so no hanging suspension kit is needed, and a threaded electrical connector means the probe can be removed without cutting and re-splicing the field wires. Typical product level accuracy is +/- 0.008" (0.2 mm), with 0.0006" (0.015 mm) resolution, and five thermistors in the shaft provide the temperature data used for volume correction.
Apex supplies and installs FMP-LL3 probes in Lebanon, sized to each tank, with the matching float kits and riser hardware.

Digital Inventory & Leak Detection Probes (LL3): common questions
- Do I need a leak detection probe or an inventory probe?
- Choose the FMP-LL3 leak detection model where static or SCALD® tank testing is required. The FMP-LL3-I inventory model suits aboveground tanks and tanks that do not need in-tank leak testing.
- What lengths are available?
- Franklin lists fourteen standard lengths from 2' (FMP-LL3-29) to 12' (FMP-LL3-149). Other lengths are available on request.
- Are floats included with the probe?
- No. All float kits are sold separately and chosen by riser size and fuel type.
