Overview
The EZ FIT system changes how flexible connectors are stocked and fitted. Instead of ordering a separate welded connector for every pipe type and thread, a distributor holds connectors with an EZ FIT flange on one end, plus a small set of quick release fittings. The final connection is chosen and assembled on the day, so one connector can be made to suit APT® XP, UPP® or fiberglass pipe without waiting for a special order.
Two flanged parts are joined with a gasket placed between them and a single-pin EZ FIT clamp that is closed around both flanges and tightened with a wing nut. The joint is watertight, needs no thread sealant, and works as a swivel, which makes alignment in a crowded sump much easier. It can also be undone for service without cutting or breaking pipe.
Franklin's guide gives ready-made layouts for the common jobs: connecting 1¾" APT® XP, 2" UPP® or 2" fiberglass pipe to a submersible pump manifold, to a shear valve riser, or to an extractor vent valve. The most used connector lengths are 12", 15", 18" and 24". Choosing an EZ FIT male end (EZM) instead of a hex male end adds a second break point nearer to grade, which shortens maintenance work.
