FLEX-ING™ Ball Valves

Most forecourt maintenance only involves one piece of equipment, yet without isolation points a technician often has to shut down and drain far more of the system than necessary. FLEX-ING™ ball valves are fitted in the line during installation so that a pump, a dispenser or a section of pipe can be closed off on its own while the rest of the station keeps selling fuel.

Franklin's point is that the valve pays for itself over the life of the site: each test or repair that would otherwise need a wider shutdown takes less labour and less lost trading time. The valves are also useful during commissioning and periodic line tests, when a section must be held under pressure on its own.

The body, end connections, stem and packing gland are CW617N brass, and the ball is brass with a black T.E.A. coating. PTFE packing and seats give the seal, and the plated steel handle has a vinyl grip. Stems are blowout-proof with triple sealing, the working pressure rating is 600 psi, and every valve is leak tested at the factory. In the EZ FIT range Franklin also lists 2" and 3" ball valves with EZ FIT flanges in brass or stainless steel, which drop straight into a flanged connector run. Apex specifies isolation valves as part of its sump designs for stations in Lebanon.
