Franklin Fueling Systems EBW anti-syphon valve

Overview

Aboveground tanks put the fuel above the outlet, so gravity alone will push product out through a broken line. EBW® anti-syphon valves are the first defence: fitted at the tank outlet, they hold back the static head of liquid and only open when a pump creates demand. Each valve has a lockable adjuster for the head pressure, ships set to maximum, and has a built-in relief valve for thermal expansion in the line. Sizes run from ¾" to 2" with head ranges up to 25'.

Where a suction dispenser draws from an aboveground tank, the EBW 664 pressure regulator valve stops fuel flowing into the pumping unit and out of the dispenser vent tube while the pump is idle. It only opens when pump suction pulls on it, closes on an internal spring, and includes a shear section so no separate shear valve is needed.

During pressurised deliveries, the Warden® overfill prevention valve threads onto a 4" fill riser and gives positive shut-off when the inverted cylindrical float reaches the set level. It is rated 100 psi, flows 200 gpm at 20 psi, needs at least 4" of ullage and should be used with clean product only. Pressure vacuum vents (8000 cubic feet per hour on 2" and 3" models), open and downward vents and lockable 2" aluminium fill caps finish the tank top. Apex supplies this equipment for generator, fleet and private fuel tanks in Lebanon.

Questions

EBW® Aboveground Tank Valves and Vents: common questions

Which anti-syphon valve size suits a generator tank?
Franklin recommends the ¾" and 1" models for fuel oil and generator applications. All models must be installed vertically.
Does the 664 pressure regulator valve need a separate shear valve?
No. A shear section is standard on the 664, so an additional shear valve is not required.
What ullage does the Warden overfill valve need?
It requires a minimum of 4" of ullage and installs by threading onto a 4" fill riser. The upper tube length sets the shut-off point.
