MS_Density Module
Density float that adds fuel quality control to an existing MS_EXIA probe.
Overview
Level and temperature tell you how much fuel is in a tank; density tells you whether it is still the product you paid for. The MS_Density Module adds that check to a Maser installation without a second probe. It is an extra float that mounts on the MS_EXIA probe stem, above the product float, and rides at the fuel surface.
The module works on buoyancy. Its float has a lower density than the fuel, and its position against the product float reflects the density of the liquid around it. Measurement is continuous and free of hysteresis, with an accuracy of ± 1 g/l and a resolution of 0.1 g/l. Combined with the probe's own readings, the system can report product level, water level, temperature and density from one tank opening.
The practical value is early warning. When density drifts outside legal or company limits, because of contamination, mixing at delivery or deterioration in storage, the system raises an alarm so the operator can stop selling and investigate. Maser also states that the module recognises water in ethanol-based blends and can determine water content in fuels from E85 to E100.
The body is compact (Ø 65 mm, 369 mm high), built from 304 and 316 AISI stainless steel, rated to 16 bar and usable from -25 °C to 80 °C. A version for the Ø 98 mm flexible probes is also available. Apex supplies, fits and services MS_Density modules in Lebanon on new or existing TankSmart probes.
