Elaflex FLUORLINE EFL 16 pump hose with fluoropolymer lining

Overview

FLUORLINE EFL replaces the usual rubber lining with a seamless, transparent tube of THV fluoropolymer. The surface is smooth and non-stick, so it causes little pressure drop and is easy to clean, it does not leach or discolour, and it holds back vapour so well that Elaflex calls it 'smell-tight'. For a station that means a pump hose with very low emissions, which Elaflex lists among its main uses alongside barrel pumps and robot filling systems.

Around the lining sit two textile braids with no metal in them, and a smooth black chloroprene cover that is conductive and resistant to UV, ozone and flame. The hose is an 'OHM' type: resistance between the hose ends is below 10^6 Ω when it is assembled with the specified fittings, so it may be used in Ex zones. It meets EN 1360 LT, works from -40 °C to +100 °C and has a four-fold burst pressure margin. A small bend radius keeps it easy to handle.

Sizes are EFL 16 (5/8", rated 25 bar), EFL 21 (7/8", 16 bar) and EFL 19 (3/4", shown in brackets in the catalogue). Elaflex specifies its own ferrule fittings to EN 14424 or couplings to EN 14420-6 with reusable Spannloc clamps, such as the MC 21 SS, and a continuous laser marking runs along the hose. Apex supplies FLUORLINE EFL hose assemblies in Lebanon for dispensers that need a cleaner, lower-emission hose.

Key features

  • Seamless, transparent THV fluoropolymer lining: smooth, non-stick, non-leaching, non-discolouring
  • Very low permeation ('smell-tight'); used as a zero-emission petrol pump hose
  • Two textile braids with no metallic parts
  • Conductive black chloroprene cover, UV, ozone and flame resistant
  • Electrical resistance below 10^6 Ω between hose ends; suitable for Ex zones
  • Meets EN 1360 LT; temperature range -40 °C to +100 °C; four-fold burst pressure
  • EFL 16 rated 25 bar working / 40 bar test; EFL 21 rated 16 bar / 25 bar
  • Use only with Elaflex ferrule fittings (EN 14424) or Spannloc couplings (EN 14420-6)

Questions

FLUORLINE EFL pump hose: common questions

What makes FLUORLINE different from a Slimline hose?
Its lining is THV fluoropolymer instead of NBR rubber. That gives a smooth, non-leaching inner surface with very low permeation, plus a wider temperature range of -40 °C to +100 °C.
Can I fit standard hose couplings to FLUORLINE?
No. Elaflex specifies its own ferrule fittings to EN 14424, or couplings to EN 14420-6 with reusable Spannloc clamps. The conductivity rating also assumes a professional assembly with these fittings.
Is FLUORLINE suitable for cold regions?
Yes. It meets the low-temperature requirements of EN 1360 LT and can be used down to -40 °C.
