EK 145 product badges

The EK 145 is a small badge that clips onto the scuffguard of any ZVA nozzle. Its main job is to show the fuel grade at the point of use and so help prevent misfuelling, but it can just as well carry a company logo, a text message or a promotion. It does this without a bulky advertising mount that would spoil the nozzle's shape. Badges are made of highly break-resistant white polyamide, and the print resists fuel vapour, weather and scratching.

Elaflex keeps a large library of existing designs and a set of standard grade badges held in stock. The online BadgeSelector finds designs by fuel type, colour or keyword and saves a selection as a PDF or sends an enquiry. Part numbers are EK 145 plus the design number. New or non-stocked designs need a minimum of 50 pieces, and there are two print methods: DirectPrint for multi-colour and photo print in small to medium runs from 50 pieces, and pad printing for large runs from 500 pieces with few, clear colours. Own artwork goes in through the BadgeCreator, ideally as vector files with fonts converted to paths.

Elaflex's layout advice is practical: strong contrast, large letters and a fairly dark background, because large white areas collect dirt in use. Plain white EK 145/0 badges take stickers, but Elaflex finds printed badges last far longer. To fit one, press holes into the four guide points of the scuffguard with a screwdriver and push the badge's spikes home.
