Wolftank · DOPA® double-wall tank lining
DOPA® Lite
The quick route to a vacuum-monitored double-wall tank, with no sandblasting.

Overview
DOPA® Lite is Wolftank's simplest way to turn a tank into a double-wall tank. It is for tanks that are still in fair shape: air tight, with only slight corrosion, or double-wall tanks where only the outer wall has failed. Compared with DOPA® 6N it skips sandblasting, and Wolftank does not list structural reinforcement among its purposes. The focus is a sealed interstitial space that can be monitored.
The job is shorter as a result. Wolftank puts a DOPA® Lite conversion at 3 to 5 days for a 30 m³ tank, against 5 to 7 days for DOPA® 6N. No sandblasting or grit blasting is needed, no expensive equipment has to come to site, and the work uses no hot work and no flammable materials. The forecourt can stay open while the crew works.
The finished tank is a rehabilitated double-wall tank whose interstice is held under vacuum and watched 24/7 by a leak detection system. Wolftank rates the method for a lifetime extension of 20+ years and says the new surface also suits aggressive fuels such as biofuels, methanol and ethanol, solvents and even acetates. For station owners who need double-wall protection on a sound tank quickly, it is the quicker of the two DOPA® methods. Apex supplies and installs DOPA® Lite linings in Lebanon and can assess whether a tank qualifies.

Questions
DOPA® Lite: common questions
- Is my tank suitable for DOPA® Lite?
- Wolftank lists DOPA® Lite for tanks that are air tight with slight corrosion, and for double-wall tanks whose outer wall has failed. Leaking or badly corroded tanks need DOPA® 6N.
- How long does DOPA® Lite take?
- Wolftank estimates 3 to 5 days for a 30 m³ tank.
- Is the interstice monitored like DOPA® 6N?
- Yes. The tank gets a vacuum interstitial space that is monitored 24/7 by a leak detection system.
