Wolftank · DOPA® double-wall tank lining
DOPA® 6N
Wolftank's high-end method: a reinforced double-wall tank built inside the old one.

Overview
DOPA® 6N is the most complete of Wolftank's tank rehabilitation methods. It is meant for tanks in the worst condition: leaking, badly corroded, out of shape, or double-wall tanks whose inner or outer wall has failed. Instead of digging the tank out, the crew builds a new reinforced double wall inside it, with a vacuum interstitial space that is monitored around the clock. Wolftank says the result makes replacing the tank unnecessary and can extend its life by up to 30 years, more than the average life of a new tank.
The work follows a fixed sequence that Wolftank documents step by step. The steel is sandblasted to SA 2.5 and weld seams are levelled with EPOFLEX® mortar. A first EPOFLEX® layer goes on, then an aluminium sheet creates the interstitial space, and stripes of EPOFLEX® lamination resin with fibreglass reinforce the structure. A sprayed EPOFLEX® top layer and a conductive ADAPOX® layer finish the lining, and a Class I vacuum leak detection system is installed on the tank.
Wolftank's own estimate for a 30 m³ tank is 5 to 7 days from the first blast to a working, monitored double-wall tank, and the forecourt keeps selling fuel meanwhile, so there is no lost revenue. Because the lining contains no flammable materials and needs no welding or other hot work, the job suits live sites. The finished surface stands up to every ethanol grade as well as biofuels, methanol, solvents and acetates. On the certification side, wolftankgroup.com states that the DOPA® system holds German DIBt approval and meets EN 13160-7:2016 for lining underground tanks completely. Apex supplies and installs DOPA® 6N in Lebanon.

Questions
DOPA® 6N: common questions
- How long does a DOPA® 6N conversion take?
- Wolftank estimates 5 to 7 days to take a 30 m³ tank from single wall to double wall.
- Does the station have to close?
- No. Wolftank states that site operations continue during the work, and no hot work or flammable lining materials are used.
- When is DOPA® 6N the right choice instead of DOPA® Lite?
- When the tank is leaking, highly corroded, out of shape, or has a failed inner wall. DOPA® Lite is meant for air-tight tanks with only slight corrosion.
- Has Wolftank lined tanks in Lebanon before?
- Wolftank's reference list includes an ongoing underground tank lining programme for TotalEnergies Africa covering more than 1,000 tanks in Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Egypt and Lebanon. The list does not say which lining system each tank received.
